With the unit secure on the tripod, the harness can just hang free, or if you are moving around a lot, just snap the hooks together.  When you are ready to unmount your unit, just snap the hooks onto the rings.  Your unit is safe, secure and ready to use.  Or undo one hook; now your unit hangs freely at your side.  Don’t worry, our straps are made of 600 lb tested materials.
